Hello all!

How to make by Deathbypuddle

Just wanted to share a little recipe with those of you who want to make eat more things that are natural especially when it comes to children:

We love chocolate. But we don't love corn syrup, preservatives, & chemicals. Chocolate syrup is so simple to make! So throw out your Hershey's chemical syrup & use homemade in your munchkins chocolate milk.

Add a cup of water to a saucepan. Once it's warm add 1/2 cup of cocoa powder. Stir until dissolved, over medium heat. Add 1 cup cane sugar(pure cane sugar isn't processed). Watch so it doesn't boil over for about 5 minutes, maybe a little longer until it thickens up a little. It will thicken more once cooled. Remove from heat & add a pinch of sea salt & 2 teaspoons of vanilla. I LOVE vanilla bean paste. Let cool a little & store it in an airtight container in the fridge. We use old mason jars or olive oil jars .

Lovely recipe :) I do make raw vegan chocolates with a friend of mine for St-Valentines every year and I even have pictures of them on dA :)

That is so cool and simple! Can't wait to try it, since I usually don't eat store bought chocolate syrup. All the nasties in it...

Thanks for the recipe. I've always loved chocolate syrup but not the corn syrup... What you describing is the Kosher chocolate syrup which is only available during Passover... To find it at other times, one must either fly to Israel or have relatives mail it to you... Thanks! (Not Jewish or Hebrew).
