Just wanted to share a little recipe with those of you who want to make eat more things that are natural especially when it comes to children:
We love chocolate. But we don't love corn syrup, preservatives, & chemicals. Chocolate syrup is so simple to make! So throw out your Hershey's chemical syrup & use homemade in your munchkins chocolate milk.
Add a cup of water to a saucepan. Once it's warm add 1/2 cup of cocoa powder. Stir until dissolved, over medium heat. Add 1 cup cane sugar(pure cane sugar isn't processed). Watch so it doesn't boil over for about 5 minutes, maybe a little longer until it thickens up a little. It will thicken more once cooled. Remove from heat & add a pinch of sea salt & 2 teaspoons of vanilla. I LOVE vanilla bean paste. Let cool a little & store it in an airtight container in the fridge. We use old mason jars or olive oil jars .
